Tax strategy

Our tax strategy is described in our tax guidelines. The guideline is aimed at the managers and employees of all divisions and units that perform tax-related tasks.

The purpose of the tax guideline is to define responsibility for tax issues within the Siltronic Group and to communicate the corporate culture with regard to taxes. This is intended to ensure that the Group fulfills its tax obligations. In terms of content, this corresponds to Siltronic's Code of Conduct, which also addresses Siltronic's tax integrity. Siltronic's tax strategy is based on the corporate strategy.

Corporate decisions are made on the basis of economic factors. Siltronic does not engage in any arrangements which, according to prevailing opinion, are aggressively aimed at reducing or avoiding taxes. Siltronic pursues an open and proactive communication style with tax authorities. When dealing with tax issues, Siltronic also draws on the opinions of external experts.

Implementation and monitoring

Responsibility for implementing and monitoring compliance with tax requirements lies with Siltronic AG's tax department, to which the Group's tax officers report. The tax department of Siltronic AG reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Siltronic AG has set up a tax compliance management system (Tax CMS) that implements the relevant tax law requirements. Components of this Tax CMS include an analysis of tax risks, the implementation of processes, control measures and reporting channels.

Suspected cases and violations

As part of the Tax CMS, Group units report violations of tax obligations to the tax department of Siltronic AG. In addition, as part of the general compliance system, there is the option of contacting the Compliance Officer or the external ombudsman with violations of tax obligations.

Transparency on tax issues

The tax strategy is publicly accessible on the Siltronic website. Detailed information on the subject of taxes is published annually in the Annual Report.
