Focus of our commitment

Siltronic assumes social responsibility, especially in the regional environment of its sites. In addition to the sound scientific and technical training of young people, which is particularly important to us, long-term social projects for children and young people are further important pillars of our social commitment.

Long-term projects at the locations

We support employees in volunteering for the community around our locations. Here are a few examples:

  • As a member of the WACKER Relief Fund, we support the victims of natural disasters and participate in the reconstruction of destroyed regions. Employees at our German sites take part in a cent donation program. Employees agree to round down their monthly salary payment to the next lowest euro amount. The remaining cents are donated.

  • For around 20 years, employees have been supporting people in need in the Portland region together with Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

  • Siltronic employees at the Freiberg site are also involved in the annual Nepal Run. Organized by a school near the Freiberg site, the charity run aims to raise money for the construction of schools in the Nepalese region of Gati.

Cooperation with universities

Openness also characterizes our contact with international universities, which regularly invite our researchers to give lectures. In return, we offer university groups at our sites insights into the work of an industrial company and offer students the opportunity to write their bachelor's and diploma theses or dissertations at Siltronic or to work as interns and student trainees.
