B-rated Siltronic confirmed as a sustainable company by CDP

Siltronic has been awarded a "B" rating by the renowned rating organization CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) for its efforts to disclose measures to combat climate change. This places Siltronic among the top 17 percent of companies reporting globally on the CDP's 2019 climate change questionnaire. The CDP recognizes Siltronic for achieving this level and continuously demonstrating sound environmental management and for reporting on the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire for two consecutive years.

"We are very pleased that we have been able to improve our rating from C to B since our first participation in CDP in 2017. We want to align the impact of our business activities with the expectations and needs of society. Therefore, our goal is to reduce the proportion of reusable packaging used for shipping wafers and factors such as CO2 emissions, water consumption and specific energy consumption per square centimeter of wafer area," says Dr. Christoph von Plotho, CEO of Siltronic AG.

In the survey, in which more than 100 countries and 800 cities as well as over 8,400 companies took part, CDP focused on the strategic handling of the challenges of climate change. Institutional investors increasingly expect a corporate strategy geared towards sustainability and use the CDP rating as a relevant information basis for their investment decisions.
Siltronic is clearly committed to climate protection and plans to save resources right from the start, based on product and production safety as well as health and environmental protection.

CDP is an international non-profit organization that annually collects and analyzes the most comprehensive, publicly available collection of corporate data, including climate data. According to CDP, the NGO is backed by more than 500 institutional investors, representing $96 trillion in fund assets, who incorporate CDP's assessment into their investment decisions.
